Flat Slide Valves

Our Schütte flat slide valves are designed as intermediate flange knife gate valves and for shut-off, metering or discharging bulk materials in or at the end of pipelines.

The flat slide valve is used to control the flow of bulk materials whose properties can range from dry and free-flowing to very cohesive. We also have solutions for shutting off viscous or liquid media! 

DESIGN & FUNCTION

Each of our designs follows special functions and its own focus. Both, the solid cast construction gate valves ZFT and ZFB or the further developed welded construction gate valves VEG and GAS are easy to handle and therefore ideally suited for all tasks in shut-off technology.

The ZFT gate valve is characterized by a very simple construction and interrupts flowing columns of material as an intermediate or end valve.

The other types of Schütte flat slide valves are even more reliable: their large separation space in the front area allows the gate to close through standing columns of material and prevents jamming.

WELDING CONSTRUCTION

The welded construction gate valves VEG and GAS +PAM also offer maximum flexibility in design and configuration.

CONFIGURATION

By selecting materials suitable for your bulk material, wear and abrasion of those valve components in contact with medium can be reduced and an above-average overall service life can be ensured. 

All flat slide valves can be equipped with various actuators depending on your requirements and can be optimally adapted to your application conditions in terms of nominal size and cross-section. 

SPECIAL DESIGN

As standard, our flat slide valves are pressure and vacuum tight to the atmosphere and dust-tight in the passage. The ZFB + PAM and GAS-PAM versions have inflatable “Press-Airmatic®” seals which also create a pressure and vacuum seal in the passage. 

FLANGE

The flanges of our flat slide valves comply with the common DIN, EN and ANSI regulations – in addition, the welded construction can be individually adapted to any installation situation. 

SEALING

Sealing in the passage and in the atmosphere are different. The passage seals the material flow. Depending on the design, you can seal a material flow or shut-off a standing column of material. A separation space ensures an optimal material flow during the closing process of the gate.

The housing can be sealed against the atmosphere in two different ways. The slide valve gate can be enclosed with a stuffing box, which presses a sealing material between the passage and the housing. Or the mechanics is completely encapsulated in the housing.

With the right choice of sealing elements, excellent service lives can be achieved.
